Welcome to Everlasting Light Pediatric Dentistry
Care for the whole little person, not just the smile

Everlasting Light is a premier pediatric dental practice, and the first certified sensory-conscious dental office in the Triad designed to accommodate various sensory sensitivities and celebrate neurodiversity.

Our versatile treatment spaces make room for every child by adapting to their specific needs, from dimmable lighting, to weighted blankets, and noise canceling headphones, we strive to reduce the fear, overwhelm and stress that can come with dental visits.

We celebrate every child's unique way of experiencing the world by tailoring each appointment around the sensitivities and emotional comfort of each child, meeting them exactly where they are. The result; building trust and positive experiences that empower families and patients for a lifetime.

A promise from Dr. Melissa

"As a parent, you should never have to wonder whether your child will be too nervous, too wiggly, too sensitive. There is room for your child here. We will begin with who they are, and we will build trust together.”

Dr. Melissa Blake
Dr. Melissa Blake is a board-certified pediatric dentist with extensive experience caring for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs. She earned degrees in Biology and Studio Arts from Trinity College before completing her Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University of Connecticut and advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Stony Brook University.
Her background in both science and art continues to shape the way she cares for children. It has taught her to observe closely, communicate thoughtfully, and respond with patience and intention. Rather than expecting every child to fit the same experience, Dr. Blake takes time to understand their comfort level, sensory preferences, personality, and past experiences, then adapts care to meet them where they are.
She founded Everlasting Light Pediatric Dentistry to create a dental home where clinical excellence and genuine compassion belong together. Guided by her faith, Dr. Blake approaches each family with empathy and care, allowing trust to grow naturally over time. For her, some of the most meaningful moments are watching an anxious child begin to feel safe, confident, and proud of what they accomplished.

What to expect

Visits that moves at your child's pace
New places can feel easier when a child knows what is coming next. That is why we make each part of the visit clear, gentle, and predictable. Your child does not need to arrive perfectly calm or ready to complete every step. We begin where they are, explain before we act, and celebrate progress that may look different for every child.

You tell us what helps

Comfort preferences, sensory needs, and history before you arrive.
Once you are here, your child has time to look around, ask questions, stay close to you, and become familiar with the environment. We do not expect a child to move from the front door to the dental chair without a transition. Becoming comfortable is part of the visit, not time taken away from it.

Your child gets time to arrive

Time to observe and explore, never rushed into the chair.

Care at their pace

The right conversation with pauses whenever needed.
We use age-appropriate language, gentle techniques, and clear explanations before introducing something new.

Your child can ask questions, take a break, or let us know when they need a pause. We pay attention to words, expressions, movement, and the quieter signs that tell us how they are feeling.

We provide a pathway forward.

The right conversation with pauses whenever needed.
Before you go, we explain what we found, what we recommend, and why. There should be no confusion and no pressure to make a decision before you understand the options. You will leave knowing what comes next and how to support your child’s health and confidence at home.

How can we support your child today?

Every family arrives somewhere different. Tell us where you are, and we'll meet you there.

Looking for our child's first dentist

Let's begin with a gentle introduction and build a relationship your family can return to through every stage of childhood.

My baby is ready for a first visit

Your baby’s first appointment should feel like a conversation, not a procedure. We’ll answer your questions and introduce dental care in a warm, playful space.

My child feels nervous about dental care

Nervous children are welcome here. We explain what to expect, follow your child’s cues, and give trust time to grow.

My child may have a cavity

We’ll explain what we see, talk through the options clearly, and care for your child without blame, pressure, or shame.

My child has sensory or developmental needs

Tell us what helps your child feel regulated, understood, and safe. We shape the environment and visit around those needs whenever possible.

This is a dental emergency

Let's pause, take a breath, and start here. We’ll help you understand what may be happening and what your child needs next.

A bright new beginning for your family starts here

Everlasting Light opens in Fall 2026, and we would be honored to welcome your family from the very beginning. Join our Founding Family List for thoughtful opening updates and the first opportunity to request an appointment when scheduling begins.
